In 1991, after experiencing a failed marriage and exploring New Age philosophy, Walt was invited to attend a Bible study with other divorcees. During this study, Walt opened the Bible for the first time as an adult, and the words of Jesus made a profound impact. Realizing that the Jesus learned about in childhood was who Walt had been seeking all along, Walt gave their life to Christ and witnessed immediate changes, including the cessation of cursing.
Immersing in scriptures,Walt joined a church, attended Bible studies, and eventually co-founded a singles group with another member. After eight years of dedication as a single servant of the Lord, Walt met their wife, Karen, and they have been happily married for 24 years. Karen has been a Godly partner, supporting Walt in following the Lord's calling in their lives.
During both the single years and the early years of the new marriage, Walt discovered a long-standing struggle with sexual addiction. Now, Walt works with others in the church facing similar issues and facilitates a discipleship Bible study with Karen. Additionally, Walt assists with the missions program and is involved with the building and grounds committee.
